Schaller and Deitte Conclude Season for Concordia at NCAA Super Regionals

Hershey, PA – The Concordia College Clippers men's golf season came to an end on Wednesday evening following the conclusion of the 2012 NCAA Division II Atlantic/East Super Regional at Hershey Links Country Club. Junior Jeffrey Schaller (Kingston, NY) and sophomore Sam Deitte (St. Louis, MO) earned a spot in the field after the selection committee chose the duo to participate as individuals.

The three-day tournament kicked off on Monday morning with Schaller shooting an opening round of an 82 (+11) while Deitte shot an 88 (+17). The second round for both players would show an improvement on their scorecards as Jeff and Sam both recorded an 80 (+9). Deitte was now tied for 78th while Schaller improved to tie for the 50th spot in the field. 

Sam continued his strong play from the day before as he shot a 78 (+7) which was six strokes off the best score by any player during the tournament. His final round score placed him in a tie for 71st overall in the championship. Jeff's 80 (+9) in the third round would drop him seven positions to an overall finish of 57th.

Deitte was previously named to the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference's (CACC) All-League Team at the conclusion of the regular season while Schaller was named to the CACC's All-Tournament Team.
