Concordia Earns Top 5 Finish at STAC Fall Classic

Thiells, NY – The Concordia College Clippers men's golf team competed in the St. Thomas Aquinas Fall Classic at the Phillip J. Rotella Golf Club. With a team score of 652 in the two-day event, the Clippers finished in 5th place in their second event of the season.

Concordia was led by Jeffrey Schaller (Kingston, NY) who finished T-7 in the 35 player field as he shot a pair of 78's at the par 72 course finishing with a 12-over 156. Eutimio Fernandez-Meade (Mexico City, Mexico) finished second for the Clippers as he shot a 160 to finish T-16 at 16-over par.

Sam Deitte (St. Louis, MO) finished right behind Fernandez-Meade with a 161, improving in day two as he hit a 78 following his 11-over 83 in the first round. Will Deitte (St. Louis, MO) and Kyle Grandilli (Port Colborne, Ontario, Canada) round out the field for the Clippers with a 177 and a 179 respectively.

Concordia finished the first round of the event with a team score of 334, placing them 29 strokes behind the hosts who led with a 305. The Clippers were able to improve their second round by 16 strokes to finish with a 318 on the day.

Concordia will next participate in the 1st Annual Purchase Classic at Fairview Country Club in Greenwich, CT on October 11th.
