EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. – The Concordia Clippers men's basketball team traveled to battle the Warriors of East Stroudsburg University on Monday evening. Concordia was unable to grab their third straight victory as the Warriors earned a 106-82 victory in non-conference play.
In the first half East Stroudsburg would begin with a 10-6 advantage early on as the Clippers used a 9-0 run to hold a 15-10 lead at the 15:28 mark. Concordia would maintain the advantage until five unanswered points for the Warriors allowed the home team to take a one point lead with 13:13 remaining in the half.
The two sides would alternate the lead on the scoreboard until a 9-0 run for East Stroudsburg would give them a 31-22 lead. The Clippers cut their deficit to five points at the 5:51 mark, but the Warriors ended the half on a 20-7 run to go into the locker room with a 51-33 advantage.
Concordia would trail by as many as 25 in the second half, 84-59 at the 8:31 mark, as the Clippers began to cut into the deficit. Concordia would use a 19-3 run to bring the deficit to single digits with 5:55 to go in regulation, 87-78. The Clippers were unable to get any closer as East Stroudsburg ended the game on a 19-4 run as the Warriors secured the 106-82 win.
Redshirt-junior Cedrick McFadden (Washington, D.C.) led Concordia with a career-high 28 points to go along with five assists and three rebounds. Senior Justyn Gardner (Queens, N.Y.) added a season-best 12 points and six rebounds off the bench as junior Michael Demello (White Plains, N.Y.) chipped in with 11 points for the Clippers.
