PREVIEW: Men’s Basketball Battles Post for Second Place in CACC North Standings
BRONXVILLE, NY – Concordia will host Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) foe Post University on Tuesday evening for their first of two meetings this regular season. Tip-off at the Meyer Athletic Center in Bronxville, NY is set for 7pm. The all-time series is tied at 3-3 between the two teams since their first meeting during the 2007-08 season according to historical records.
CONCORDIA VS. POST
- Concordia won their first meeting 78-72 on Dec. 18, 2007 in Bridgeport, CT.
- The Clippers won both conference games last season while the Eagles won both conference games the season before that.
- The last time Concordia and Post met (Jan. 19, 2011), the Clippers won 109-99, in double overtime, in Waterbury, CT. Concordia had five players that finished the game in double figures and three finished with more than 20 points. Four of those five players, including all 20+ point scorers, are on this year's roster. Argelix Gil (Brooklyn, NY) and Brandon Whitaker (Harlem, NY) led Concordia with 25 points each as Gil recorded a game-high 16 rebounds.

THE CONCORDIA COLLEGE CLIPPERS (8-9, 5-4 CACC)
- Picked to finish 6th in CACC North Division preseason poll.
- The Clippers previously defeated Dominican College, 76-73, on Wednesday evening. Pope led Concordia with a game-high 23 points on 7-of-13 shooting from the field while also adding four assists, two rebounds and a steal. Dominique Spann (West Babylon, NY) and Jahrod Lide (Bronx, NY) both added 12 points in the victory.
- Within the CACC, Argelix Gil (Brooklyn, NY) is tied for 1st in points per game (19.3), 3rd in rebounds per game (11.1) and 5th in field goal percentage (54.8%). In Division II he is ranked 8th in rebounds per game according to the Jan. 19th rankings.
- Concordia scores the most points per game (77.5) and records the second most rebounds per game (40.6) in the CACC. Within Division II, the Clippers are ranked 43rd in blocked shots per game (4.1) according to the Jan. 19th rankings.
THE POST UNIVERSITY EAGLES (6-11, 4-4 CACC)
- Picked to finish 3rd in CACC South Division preseason poll.
- Post is 4-8 in games away from the Drubner Center this season.
- The Eagles previously fell to Holy Family, 78-70, on Saturday afternoon. Josh Lopez led Post with 21 points while also adding eight rebounds and three assists. James Lee led the team in rebounds (10) while scoring six points.
- Lopez leads the team in points per game (13.1) while Zach Krischer is the only other player to average double figures (10.9). Lopez is also the team leader in rebounds per game (4.8).
- The team has the 44th best turnover margin in Division II (2.9) according to the Jan. 19th rankings. Jake Wilcox records the 30th most assists in Division II (5.3) for Post.
- Krischer is ranked 2nd in 3-Pt. field goal percentage (46.8%) within the CACC.
- The Eagles are ranked third-to-last in the CACC for field goal percentage (40.6%) and second-to-last in blocks per game (2.1).
