Concordia Men’s Basketball Announces Late Additions for 2011
Bronxville, N.Y. - With one spot left to fill on their 2011-2012 roster, Head Men's Basketball Coach Brian Sondey has announced that Jason Alleyne, a 6'3" wing from Salesian High School (New Rochelle, N.Y.) has signed an Institutional Letter of Intent to join the Clippers this fall.
"As we got into the summer months, I knew we would only add another player if I felt he could bring something special to our program," Coach Sondey stated. "With Jason's offensive instincts I feel he will add a great dimension to our already fantastic recruiting class."
Alleyne, a native of Bronx, N.Y. capped off his high school career at Salesian with an impressive senior season. Jason was a 1st Team All New York State Class "B" selection as his team won a CHSAA Class "B" State Championship. As a Clipper, Jason will be counted on to be a force on the offensive glass and to defend the wing area.
"Jason has great instincts as far as just finding the basketball on the offensive end and scoring it," Coach Sondey said. "Sometimes it is from the post, and sometimes it is off an offensive board, he just finds a way. I'm looking forward to working on Jason's handle, jump shot, and quickness so he can expand his game even more," Sondey continued.
Also joining the Clippers this upcoming season will be Freshman Ian Lescouflair of Rice High School (New York, N.Y.) who will serve as a student manager. "Ian has a great relationship with our guys already, and wants to learn the game of basketball," Sondey explained. "This will be a great opportunity for him."
The Clippers will open the season on November 12th at The College of St. Rose.
