Clippers get run down by Riverhawks
The Clippers traveled to the University of Massachusetts Lowell for a non-conference game with the Riverhawks. The first two minutes the Riverhawks and Clippers battled, each scoring quickly. The Riverhawks broke away and kept a small lead over the Clippers. The Clippers worked hard but never let the Riverhawks get more than seven points ahead along with bringing them within two points. The Riverhawks then halted the Clippers progress on them and broke away as they took a double digit lead. The Clippers trailed the Riverhawks heading into the locker room, 35-58.
The Clippers battled back and forth in the second half trying to cut their deficit down to size. The Riverhawks came out running and were able to go toe to toe with the Clippers. As the Clippers pushed the Riverhawks matched their efforts and did not let up on the Clippers. At the end of the game the Clippers dropped to the Riverhawks, 68-95.
Brandon Whitaker dropped 17 points with 8 rebounds. Norman Pope racked up 14 points while Lavor Morris and Brendan Lyn each put up 11 points.
The Clippers will take on Dominican College at the James Clancy Memorial Tournament at Dominican College on Sunday, January 2, 2011.
