Clippers grab another win as they defeat Chestnut Hill
The Clippers hosted the Chestnut Hill College Griffins this afternoon. With a quick 6-0 lead by the Clippers the game was underway. The Clippers pushed their quick lead out as their offense found the right times to score. Moving down the court on the defensive end the Clippers worked hard to fend off the Griffins. Though the Griffins moved in to cut the Clipper's lead down they found the defense solid and struggled. With the Clippers clearly in the lead they slowed the pace of the first down. The Clippers led 29-20 over the Griffins at the end of the half.
The Clippers headed into the second half confident with their
lead. Even though the Griffins threatened at many points
throughout the half the Clippers maintained their play. The
Griffins though started to creep back and found themselves down by
6 at one point. With a second wind from the Clippers, the
team was back to business. With just the second half alone at
a dead heat in scoring the Clippers continued their confidence and
defeated the Griffins 73 - 64.
Argelix Gil led with 19 points for the Clippers. Kenny Gaskins put up 15 points and added 9 rebounds and 7 assists. Will Eason was top on the boards for the Clippers with 13 rebounds and added 7 blocks with his 10 points. Brandon Whitaker added 11 points on the night while Douglas Soutar put up 10.
The Clippers will face off at Felician College on Tuesday at 8:00pm.
