New Castle, DE - Clippers nab 5th win in tight game with Wildcats
The Clippers headed right into battle as they faced off with the Wilmington University Wildcats. The Clippers working hard to get through the Wildcats defense found their ways to score. The Wildcats would then answer back and steal the lead away. With the first half a tight battle between the two the lead changed hands at five different points and at seven other times the game was tied. The Clippers found an edge and held a two point lead, 33-31, at the end of the first half.
The second half of the game was a continued battle between the
two. The battle intensified as the clock ticked down.
With both team continuing to go back and forth neither team held
more than a four point lead over the other. As the seconds
ticked down the Clippers held a one point lead over the Wildcats
and as they held possession of the ball. The Wildcats fouled
the Clippers and the Clippers sunk one of two free throws to have a
two point lead and secure the win. The Clippers defeated the
Wildcats 61-59.
Argelix Gil lead with 16 points and 8 rebounds. Will Eason added 15 points, 3 blocks, and 3 assists. Lavor Morris knocked down 11 points while Brandon Whitaker added 10 for the night.
The Clippers will host Caldwell College this Thursday at 7:00pm.
