Albany, NY - Three push double digits as Clippers fall short to St. Rose
The Clippers headed north to Albany to face off against the College of St. Rose. The Clippers matched up evenly with the College of St. Rose during the first half of game. Though there were few lead changes and ties in the first half the Clippers found themselves down by the slimmest of margins to the College of St. Rose at the half, 32-33.
The second half started to mirror the first as they went back and forth but it was the College of St. Rose who broke away first and took a twelve point lead to control the game. With the help of Matthew Collins hitting his shots from behind the arc, the Clippers were able to battle back into the game with just minutes left. The College of St. Rose saw the Clippers pace pick up and started to try and match it to keep the game in their possession. Despite the efforts of the Clippers, they fell short in the final minute and the College of St. Rose took the game, 68-62.
Matthew Collins led offensively with 15 points, including hitting
three three-pointers. Lavor Morris matched him with an equal
15 points. Argelix Gil came in with the third double digit
number of the night with 12 points and 6 rebounds while William
Eason led with 12 rebounds.
The Clippers will head down to the University of Tampa this Monday and Tuesday for a two game stint with the University of Tampa and Eckerd University.
