Waterbury, CT - Clippers try to keep momentum but falter against the Eagles
The Clippers stepped out onto the Post University court and hit the gas immediately from the gate. The Clippers went on a 9-0 scoring run over the Eagles. The Eagles eventually put a stop to the Clippers run and and found the Clippers faltering. The Clippers watched their lead go away and the Eagles taking control fo the game. As the Clippers worked to get back to where they started they could only get so close until it slipped away. The Eagles extended their lead over the Clippers as the mintues of the frist half ticked away. The Clippers were down 28-45 as they headed into intermission.
With the Clippers deficit great, they had a lot of work to do to
get back into the game. The Clippers found the answers with
Will Eason and Argelix Gil, each with a double-double on the
night. Adding to the forwards games were guards Kenny Gaskins
(10 points) and Douglas Soutar (12 points) as the Clippers started
their climb back. The Eagles though held their lead even with
the Clippers outscoring them in the second half. Despite the
Clippers efforts, they fell to the Eagles 75-66.
Will Eason posted up big with 18 points, 19 rebounds, 3 steals, 3 assists and 2 blocks as Argelix Gil added 15 points and 15 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals for the night.
The Clippers head to Wilmington University this Saturday to face off against the Wildcats.
