Bridgeport Pulls Away from Clippers 88-73
Bridgeport, CT - The Concordia College men's basketball team was defeated by the University of Bridgeport Purple Knights yesterday 88-73 at the Harvey Hubbell Gymnasium in Bridgeport, CT.
Junior Kenny Gaskins (Bronx, NY) scored a season high 22 points, pulled down 8 rebounds and had 6 assists, all team highs. Sophomore Samuel Batista (Carolina, Puerto Rico) scored 17 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. Senior Alphonso DuHart (Hillside, NJ) finished with 9 points and junior Williamson Egwu (Jamaica Queens, NY) scored a season high 8 points.
For the University of Bridgeport, Teairez Stennis collected a game high 28 points and had 8 rebounds while Dave Boykin added 21 points and 5 rebounds. Lee Frazier finished with a double-double, scoring 13 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. Steve Martin chipped in 7 points and 10 rebounds.
The Clippers finish the 2008-2009 men's basketball season 7-23 overall and 5-13 in the East Coast Conference. The Purple Knights will enter the ECC Men's Basketball Tournament as the #2 seed with a 20-7 record and 14-4 in ECC contests.
