Carolina, Puerto Rico - Sophomore Samuel Batista (Carolina, Puerto Rico) secured his second double-double of the season with a team high 18 points and 11 rebounds, however it was the Seahawks of Northwood University (FL) that emerged with an 80-69 victory Saturday evening in the Puerto Rico Lexmark Holiday Tournament in Carolina Puerto Rico. Batista has led the Clippers in scoring in all 3 contests in his hometown of Carolina, Puerto Rico.

Freshman Daniel Olsen (Stafford, CT) had his best offensive performance of the season with 15 points on 6 for 10 (60%) shooting from the floor. Olsen also grabbed 5 rebounds and had 4 steals and 2 blocks. Sophomore Sean Walker (Bridgeport, CT) shot 4 for 6 (67%) from 3-point range in scoring 13 points for the Clippers, while junior Troy Young (Largo, MD) added 9 points and 3 rebounds. Junior Kenny Gaskins (Bronx, NY) finished wit ha season high 9 assists to go along with 4 points and 4 rebounds.

For Northwood, Baree Ward shot an incredible 8 for 10 (80%) from the floor in scoring a game high 20 points. Ward secured 5 rebounds and had 3 steals. Seven Ezumba added 17 points and lester Hunte chipped in 13 points and 13 rebounds for the Seahawks. DeSean White and BJ McDowell each finished with 8 points.

The loss drops the Clippers record to 2-9 overall, while Northwood University improves to 8-1 on the season.

The Clippers will resume play on Monday, December 29th, as they travel to Winter Park, FL to participate in the Winter Park Rotary Tangerine Tournament hosted by Rollins College. Concordia will take on the host school, the Tars of Rollins College beginning at 8:00 PM.
