Adelphi Tops Concordia 73-56
Garden City, NY - The Concordia College men's basketball team was defeated by the Panthers of Adelphi University 73-56 yesterday in Garden City, NY.
Freshman Daniel Olsen (Stafford, CT) led the Clippers with 14 points and a game high 12 rebounds. Olsen shot 5 for 8 (62.5%) from the floor. Junior Kenny Gaskins (Bronx, NY) had 11 points, 3 rebounds and 3 assists, while sophomore William Eason (Springfield, MA) added 6 points and 9 rebounds for the Clippers.
For the Panthers, Richard Byrd scored a game high 23 points and grabbed 7 rebounds. Sky Khaleel and David Akinyooye finished with 12 points apiece. Khaleel also added 8 rebounds to his stat line. Casey Cosgrove chipped in 9 points, 8 assists and 3 steals for the Panthers.
The loss drops the Clippers to 5-13 overall and 3-5 in the East Coast Conference. Adelphi improves to 12-5 on the year and 6-2 in ECC play.
The Clippers will get right back into play as they travel to Princeton, NJ on Sunday, January 25th to take on the Division I Tigers of Princeton University. The action will begin at 5:00 PM.
