Fields Maned to All-Met Team
White Plains, NY - Senior Richard Fields (Bronx, NY) was named to the 2007-2008 All-Met Division II Men's College Basketball Team, as announced today by the National Invitation Tournament and Met Basketball Writers Association.
Fields averaged 18.7 points per game for the Clippers this season, which ranks him 4th in the East Coast Conference. The senior was the leading scorer in 19 of the 27 games the Clippers played this season, including a season high 37 points in a 78-72 win over NYIT on February 16th. Fields scored his 1,000 career point in just two season with the Clippers on February 27th in a 65-49 win over Queens College.
Fields helped the Clippers earn the 6th seed in the East Coast Conference men's basketball tournament, where Concordia stunned the 3rd seeded Bears of NYIT 67-62. The Clippers lost in the ECC semi-finals to 2nd seeded Adelphi University 66-62 in what would prove to be Field's final game as a Clipper.
The All-Met awards will be presented Thursday evening, April 17, at Giants Stadium Club in East Rutherford, N.J.
