Bridgeport Slips by Clippers 76-74
Bridgeport, CT - Sophomore Torrance McGill (Manhattan, NY) posted his fourth double-double of the season, scoring 18 points and grabbing 13 rebounds in a losing effort to the University of Bridgeport Purple Knights 76-74 Saturday afternoon in Bridgeport, CT. McGill also contributed 5 steals and 4 assists for the Clippers. Freshman William Eason (Springfield, MA) also posted a double-double, finishing with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Senior Richard Fields (Bronx, NY) added 15 points and 5 assists, while sophomore Kenny Gaskins III (Bronx, NY) chipped in 13 points, 4 rebounds, 7 assists and 3 steals. Junior Dan Cunningham (Kingston, NY) finished with 9 points and 6 rebounds.
For Bridgeport, Marquis Moore scored a team high 14 points and grabbed 5 rebounds and Lex James finished with 13 points and 10 rebounds. Cornell Littlejohn and Quentin Martin each added 12 points and T-Ron Christy chipped in 10 points for the Purple Knights.
The Clippers fall to 10-16 overall and 9-10 in the East Coast Conference. Bridgeport improves to 12-13 overall and 10-8 in the East Coast Conference.
The Clippers will conclude the 2007-2008 regular season with a
home contest against the Knights of Queens College. Back on January
19th, the Clippers defeated the Knights 71-70 in an overtime
thriller in Flushing, NY. Game time is 7:00 PM.
