Lions Overwhelm Clippers 80-65

Rockville Centre, NY - The Concordia College men's basketball team suffered an 80-65 loss to the Molloy College Lions last night at Quealy Gymnasium in Rockville Centre, NY.

Senior Richard Fields (Bronx, NY) scored 16 points, grabbed 6 rebounds and finished with 5 assists and 3 steals. Sophomore Torrance McGill (Manhattan, NY) produced his third double-double of the season, scoring 15 points and pulling down 12 rebounds. McGill also had 3 steals and 2 assists. Junior Dan Cunningham (Kingston, NY), on 67% (6-9) shooting, added 12 points for the Clippers and senior Lamont Wilson (Manhattan, NY) chipped in 11 points and 7 rebounds.

 

 

For Molloy, Vincent Falzone scored 25 points and secured 10 rebounds. Falzone shot 53% (10-19) from the floor. Glenn Martin also finished with 25 points and added 7 rebounds and a team high 4 assists. Girard Fitts scored 11 points and Mark Pierre chipped in 9 points and 5 rebounds.

The Clippers fall to 10-15 overall and 9-9 in the East Coast Conference. The Lions improve to 9-15 overall and 7-11 in the East Coast Conference.

The Clippers will take on the University of Bridgeport Purple Knights in Bridgeport, CT on Saturday, February 23rd. The Clippers currently sit a half game behind Bridgeport and St. Thomas Aquinas College in the conference standings. The Purple Knights and St. Thomas Aquinas are tied for 4th place with a 9-8 record and the Clippers are alone in 6th place with a 9-9 conference mark. Earlier this season, the Clippers defeated the Purple Knights 59-47 at the Meyer Athletic Center. The game will begin at 3:00 PM.
