Men's Basketball Tops Mavericks 72-50

Dobbs Ferry, NY - Junior forward Dan Cunningham (Kingston, NY) finished with 18 points, 10 rebounds, 2 assists and 3 steals to help the Clippers down the Mavericks of Mercy College 72-50 yesterday at Dobbs Ferry High School in Dobbs Ferry, NY. Cunningham shot 8-13 (62%) from the floor. Freshman Sean Walker (Bridgeport, CT) led all scorers with a game high 21 points on 50% (6-12) shooting, including 5-8 (63%) from 3-point range. Freshman Dustin Priest (Kingston, NY) scored 10 points on 4-5 (80%) shooting in the game. Freshman William Eason (Springfield, MA) led all rebounds with a season high 15 boards for the Clippers.

For the Mavericks, Keiron Guy finished with 13 points and 7 rebounds and Jimmy Gunville had 12 points and 4 rebounds. Paul Flowers scored 9 points and had a team high 12 rebounds.

The Clippers shot a season's best 48.1% (26-54) from the floor in the game and held the Mavericks to 24.6% (15-61) shooting. The Mavericks were outrebounded 49-38 by the Clippers.

The win improves the Clippers record to 2-4 overall and evens their East Coast Conference record at 2-2. Mercy falls to 2-5 overall and 2-2 in the East Coast Conference.

Concordia will travel to Oakdale, NY on Friday, December 14th to take on the Golden Lions of Dowling College. The action begins at 7:00 PM.
