Bobcats Outrun Clippers 92-77
In his first game as a Clipper, junior Will Cherry (Mt.Vernon, NY) scored a game high 28 points, however, it wasn't enough as the Clippers fell to Division I Quinnipiac University 92-77 tonight in Hamden, CT. Cherry shot an incredible 75% (9-12) from the floor, including 3-5 from 3-point range and 7-9 from the free throw line. Forward Richard Fields (Bronx, NY) added 19 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists and 7 steals. Freshman Kenny Gaskins III (Bronx, NY) scored 13 points, grabbed 6 rebounds and had 4 steals and senior Jonathan Duperon (Philadelphia, PA) chipped in 10 points.
Two players registered double-doubles for Quinnipiac University. Chris Wehye led the way with a team high 19 points and 12 rebounds and Karl Anderson added 15 points and 10 rebounds. Also for the Bobcats, Jason Wilson scored 16 points in 18 minutes of action and Van Crafton chipped in 15 points.
The loss drops the Clippers record to 0-1 on the season. Quinnipiac University improves to 1-1 on the season.
Concordia will travel to the Sunshine State for a pair of games this weekend. First, the Clippers will face off against Edward Waters College on Friday, November 17 at 7:00 PM. The Clippers will then play the Ospreys of the University of North Florida on Sunday, November 19 at 1:00 PM.
