Jean-Baptiste Sparks Clippers to 58-44 Victory

Final Stats

Bronxville, NY - Senior Nate Jean-Baptiste (Far Rockaway, NY) scored all 10 of his points in the second half in helping the Clippers defeat the Golden Lions 58-44 tonight at the Meyer Athletic Center in Bronxville, NY. Concordia was led by junior Richard Fields (Bronx, NY), who scored a game high 19 points, grabbed 3 rebounds and had 5 steals.

Jean-Baptiste entered the game in the second half to chants from the crowd of "We want Nate, we want Nate!" and he wouldn't disappoint the raucous and rowdy crowd. The senior nailed a 3-pointer with just over 11 minutes to tie the game at 34-34. Three minutes later, Jean-Baptiste would find fellow senior Jonathan Duperon (Philadelphia, PA) for a 3-pointer, as the Clippers took a 38-36 lead and would not look back. Duperon finished the game with 14 points and scored 10 straight points late in the second half to help ice the game for Concordia. Junior William Cherry (Mt. Vernon, NY) chipped in 9 points and 6 rebounds.

For Dowling College, Nicholas Filloramo scored a team high 10 points. Akio Charles scored 9 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. Genc Selimi added 6 points and 11 rebounds for the Golden Lions.

The win improves the Clippers record to 3-5 overall and 2-2 in the East Coast Conference. Dowling College falls to 2-7 overall and 1-2 in the East Coast Conference.

Concordia will next travel to Erie, PA on Thursday, December 28th to take on the Lakers of Mercyhurst College in non-conference action. The action gets underway at 8:00 PM.
