New Haven, CT - The Concordia College men's basketball team lost a non-conference match-up to the Owls of Southern Connecticut State University by the score of 74-56 last night in New Haven, CT. Freshman Kenny Gaskins III (Bronx, NY) and junior Richard Fields (Bronx, NY) each scored 17 points for the Clippers. Gaskins III, who leads Concordia in field goal percentage at 49% (66 for 136), shot 8 for 10 (80%) for the game, while adding 4 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals to his stat line. Senior forward Jonathan Duperon (Philadelphia, PA) chipped in 11 points and Bobby Spezzano (Greenwich, CT) led the Clippers in rebounds with 8.

For the Owls, Danny Miller scored 16 points and grabbed 10 rebounds on 7 for 8 (88%) shooting for the night. Kevin Diffley, Trevor Harris and Tyrese Sullivan each added 13 points. Devon Sullivan chipped in 8 points and 9 rebounds for Southern Connecticut State.

The loss drops the Clippers to 5-8 overall. Southern Connecticut improves to 4-13 overall.

Concordia will jump back into East Coast Conference action on Wednesday, January 17th, as they travel to Bridgeport, CT to face the Purple Knights of the University of Bridgeport. Tip-off is set for 7:00 PM.
