Golden Lions Tame Clippers 63-51

Oakdale, NY - Despite a season high 16 points and 9 rebounds from junior Lamont Wilson (New York, NY), the Clippers were defeated by the Dowling College Golden Lions 63-51 last night in Oakdale, NY. Wilson finished the game shooting 5 for 6 (83%) from the floor and a perfect 6 for 6 from the free throw line. Concordia was led by freshman Kenny Gaskins III (Bronx, NY), who tallied 19 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals in the contest. Junior Alphonso Duhart (Hillside, NJ) chipped in 7 points and 2 rebounds. The Clippers have dropped 5 out of their last 7 East Coast Conference match-ups.

 

 

For Dowling College, David Seagers scored a game high 24 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. Seagers went 8 for 14 (64%) from the floor. Josh Lowe added 9 points and 4 rebounds and Ryan Ahrens chipped in 8 points. Genc Selimi secured a game high 9 rebounds for Dowling College.

The loss drops the Clippers record to 7-13 overall and 6-8 in the East Coast Conference. Dowling College improves to 6-14 overall and 5-8 in the East Coast Conference.

Concordia will begin a 4 game homestand and will play 6 out of their last 7 contests at the Meyer Athletic Center. The Clippers will face off against the Pioneers of C.W. Post on Thursday, February 8th. The Pioneers defeated Concordia 74-58 in Brookville, NY back on December 13th. Gaskins led Concordia with 13 points and 7 rebounds in that contest. John Morris finished with a game high 17 points and Raul Mercedes tallied 16 points and 10 rebounds for C.W. Post. The game will begin at 7:00 PM.
