Spartans Too Much for Clippers
Bronxville, NY - The Concordia College men's basketball team dropped an East Coast Conference game to the Spartans of St. Thomas Aquinas College 62-52 today at the Meyer Athletic Center in Bronxville, NY. The Clippers were led by junior Richard Fields (Bronx, NY), who scored a team high 17 points. Kenny Gaskins III (Bronx, NY) finished with 11 points, 3 rebounds and 3 assists. Seniors Jonathan Duperon (Philadelphia, PA) and Bobby Spezzano (Greenwich, CT) each added 10 points. Spezzano collected 9 rebounds and Duperon tallied 8 rebounds.
For the Spartans, Jelani Winfield finished with a game high 18 points on 6 for 9 (67%) shooting. Akeem Comas added 14 points and 5 rebounds and Willis Kettrell chipped in 9 points for the Spartans.
The loss drops the Clippers record to 6-11 overall and 5-6 in the East Coast Conference. St. Thomas Aquinas improves to 6-11 overall and 6-4 in the East Coast Conference.
The Clippers will look to rebound against the Adelphi University
Panthers on Thursday, February 1st. The game will be played in
Garden City, NY and will begin at 7:30 PM.
