Clippers Baseball Sweeps Weekly CACC Honors
The Clippers went 7-0 this past week and produced several players worthly of the CACC Weekly honors. Three members of the Clippers earned the honors of Player, Pitcher and Rookie of the Week.
Difre Reyes, a senior from New York, NY, earned Player of the Week for the week ending March 21st. Reyes with 17 for 33 with a .512 batting average. He had 8 runs scored, 8 RBI's, 5 doubles, 1 home run and 3 stolen bases in the 7-0 week for the Clippers. Reyes collected at least two hits in each of the games this week.
Keith Malanga, a sophomore from Mt. Vernon, NY, earned Pitcher of
the Week. As a right handed pitcher, Malanga earned a
win over the University of the Sciences over this past weekend and
a save against Dominican College. With his three appearances
on the mound for the Clippers he pitched 8.2 innings only allowing
3 hits ans striking out 7 while keeping a 0.00 ERA for the week.
Eric Skutch, a freshman from Ithaca, NY, earned Rookie of the Week
for the this past week of work. The right handed pitcher
recorded a win and a save in his three appearances while not
allowing a run. Skutch surrendered just 7 hits in the 9.2
innings of work while fanning 10 batters.
