Clippers fall in playoff game to Post
The Clippers hosted Post University in a CACC Playoff game. The Clippers called upon Tommy Paradise to pitch the game. As the Eagles threatened straight off Paradise dug deep and came away unscathed.
The Clippers got two men on base in the bottom of the first after
Anthony Carnacchio was walked to start the offensive move for the
Clippers. TJ Walsh got on board to move Carnacchio as he was
hit by a pitch. Unfortunately the Clippers could not capitalize and
they headed back out onto the field for defense.
Paradise continued to throw well into the second inning as the Clippers retired the Eagles in order. The Eagles however did come back in the third and fourth inning to score seven runs to take the first lead of the game.
The Clippers struggled to find their way onto the bases and even came within 90 feet of scoring but were unable to bring them in.
With the Clippers chances running out the bottom of the eighth
quickly approached. A single up the middle by David Perlleshi
(1 for 3 with 1 run scored) started the inning off. Donnie
Roth was next as he hit a single to right center field to put to
men on the bases. Billy O'Connell (2 for 3 with 2 singles)
was hit by a pitch to load the bases
up. Greg Conway then hit a one out single to right field to
score Perlleshi and the Clippers finally had a run on the board.
Difre Reyes grounded out to score Roth for the Clippers second
run.
Unfortunately the Clippers could not get anyone else to round the
bases in the rest of the eighth or in the ninth and the Clippers
fell to the Eagles 7-2.
The Clippers end their season with an overall record of 28-22.
