The Concordia College Clippers Baseball team headed down to Philadelphia to face off against the Chestnut Hill College Griffins.  With the Clippers going down in order to start the game they would call upon Peter Denyssenko to be the Clippers hurler in game one.  The Griffins got one run in the bottom of the inning and were the first on the scoreboard.

TJ Walsh led the Clippers in the second inning with a single down the left field line.  Walsh then moved up to second on a Griffin error by their left fielder.  With a ground out by Billy O'Connell, Walsh moved to third and was just 90 feet from the crossing the plate.  A one out single to right field by Greg Conway allowed Walsh to score and the Clippers tied the game up.

Tommy Paradise led the the third inning off as he walked aboard.  John Pliego laid down a sacrifice bunt down the first base line to move Paradise over.  A single to right field by Anthony Carnacchio put runners on corners for the Clippers.  David Perlleshi stepped up and followed suit with a single to right field and scored Paradise to give the Clippers the lead.  TJ Walsh continued his hitting with two out single up the middle to score Carnacchio.  Billy O'Connell kept the Clippers inning running with a single to right field to score Perlleshi.

The Griffins answered only one of the Clippers runs.  Peter Denyssenko then halted the Griffins move for any more runs.

The Clippers scored another run on the board for them as John Pliego led the seventh inning with a double to left field.  Pliego moved up to third after a wild pitch.  The Clippers put runners on the corners as Anthony Carnacchio was walked on base.  A single down the left field line by Daivd Perlleshi put Pliego across the plate and the Clippers were now up 5-2.

The Clippers added one more run in the top of the ninth inning after David Perlleshi led the inning off with a one out double to right center field.  A single to the left side by Donnie Roth put runners on the corner once more for the Clippers.  With a single to left center field by TJ Walsh, Perlleshi scored and the Clippers notched the win 6-2 over the Griffins.

Peter Denyssenko pitched a complete game for the Clippers as he struck out seven while walking just one.

The Clippers called upon freshman pitcher Eric Skutch to pitch game two for the Clippers.  The Griffins attacked at the start of the game with scoring three runs in the first inning.

A bunt single toward third base by Billy O'Connell started the top of the second inning off for the Clippers.  Greg Conway was walked aboard and the Clippers had two on base.  Mike Sciacchitano bunted into a fielder's choice to reach first base.  With Tommy Paradise up at the plate, he hit a double to right center and scored Conway to gain one run into the Griffins lead.

The Griffins then attacked three more times in the next couple of innings to go up 6-1.  As the Clippers were at the plate they struggled to move runners past second base even though several batters were hitting well.

With struggling to move runners along and have them cross the plate the Clippers were running out of outs.  PJ Surace came in to relieve Eric Skutch and was able to halt the Griffins scoring runs.

The Clippers fell in the second game to the Griffins 6-1 as they split the series.

David Perlleshi hit 6 for 9 for the day with 2 runs and 2 RBI's.  TJ Walsh fit 3 for 8 with 2 RBI's.  Billy O'Connell recorded 18 putouts from first base while Greg Conway 17 putouts from behind the plate.

The Clippers will host Nyack College in a non-conference game this Monday at 3:00pm.
