Denyssenko Claims Pitcher of the Week Honors

Central Islip, NY - Sophomore Peter Denyssenko (Larchmont, NY) has been named East Coast Conference Pitcher of the Week, as announced by the conference office yesterday. Denyssenko made three appearances on the mound for the Clippers last week and came out with 2 wins and a save.

Denyssenko pitched 5 innings in relief against the Mavericks of Mercy College on March 30th in Dobbs Ferry, NY and allowed 4 hits and no earned runs with 4 strikeouts. The Clippers defeated the Mavericks 11-8 in 13 innings.

Two days later, Denyssenko picked up his second win against the Dowling College Golden Lions in Brookhaven, NY. Denyssenko scattered 4 hits over 6 innings and did not allow a run. Concordia earned a 1-0 win over the Golden Lions.

Denyssenko picked up a save in the Clippers 4-2 win over the Panthers of Adelphi University this past Sunday at Clipper Baseball Field. Denyssenko pitched the final 2 inning and gave up 1 hit and struck out 3 Panther batters.

Denyssenko is 4-0 in 10 appearances on the season with a 3.03 ERA. The sophomore also has 3 saves so far this season.
