Gorvetzian Claims Back-to-Back Pitching Honors

Central Islip, NY - Senior Robert Gorvetzian (Jackson Heights, NY) was named the East Coast Conference Pitcher of the Week for the second consecutive week, as announced by the conference office today.

Gorvetzian made 2 appearances last week, including a complete, 9-inning game against ECC foe Queens College. Gorvetzian went the distance against the Knights allowing only 2 hits and 1 walk, with 5 strikeouts in a 5-0 victory. The senior also pitched 2 innings in relief against Pace University on Wednesday, finishing with 1 strikeout and 3 hits allowed.

Gorvetzian is 2-1 on the season in 7 game appearances with a 4.24 ERA. The senior has pitched 2 complete games, including a no-hitter, and has 14 strikeouts in 23.1 innings pitched.

The Clippers will be back in action on Wednesday, march 18th, as they host the Golden Falcons of Felician College at Clipper Baseball Field. The game was originally scheduled to be played at Felician College, but was moved to Concordia due to field problems. The game will start at 3:00 PM.
