Dowling Shuts Out Clippers 5-0

Brookhaven, NY - The Concordia College baseball team was defeated by the Golden Lions of Dowling College 5-0 yesterday at Golden Lions Field in Brookhaven, NY. The Clippers fall to 12-27 overall and 7-16 in the East Coast Conference. Dowling improves to 22-15 overall and 12-9 in the East Coast Conference.

Richard Barry threw a complete game, 3-hit shutout for the Golden Lions with 7 strikeouts. Senior Peter Dempsey (Brewster, NY) and sophomores T.J. Walsh (Eastchester, NY) and Anthony Carnacchio (Belle Harbor, NY) each finished with a hit for the Clippers.

Junior Giuseppe Granitto (Bronx, NY) went the distance for the Clippers, giving up 11 hits and 5 earned runs while striking out 4 batters. Granitto falls to 3-7 on the season.

The Clippers will take the field on Monday, April 28th against the Cougars of Caldwell College in a non-conference match-up at Clipper Baseball Field. The game will begin at 3:30 PM.
