Spartans Triumph Over Clippers 9-5
Orangeburg, NY - The Concordia College baseball team fell to the Spartans of St. Thomas Aquinas College 9-5 yesterday in a non-conference match-up at the Vet in Orangeburg, NY. The Clippers fall to 6-20 overall with the loss.
Sophomore T.J. Walsh (Eastchester, NY) led Concordia with 2 hits and 2 RBI. Senior Peter Dempsey (Brewster, NY) also had 2 hits and drove in a run. Senior Tom Bordanaro (Wappingers Falls, NY) and sophomore Difre Reyes (Manhattan, NY) each finished with a hit and a RBI.
Freshman Jonathan Hickey (New Fairfield, CT) pitched 5 innings and gave up 5 hits and 5 earned runs with 5 strikeouts.
For the Spartans, Pat Murray and Fernando Peralta each finished with 2 RBI and a hit. John Mazzello, Vincent Malzahn and Mike Triana had 2 hits apiece. Scott Sadowski picked-up the win for STAC, throwing 5.1 innings and allowing 10 hits and 4 runs with 2 strikeouts.
Concordia will return to Clipper Baseball Field on
Saturday, April 11th, as they host the Pioneers of C.W. Post in an
ECC doubleheader. First pitch is set for 12:00 PM.
