Clippers Fall to Fighting Knights 14-0

Final Stats

Boca Raton, FL - The Concordia College baseball team dropped their sixth straight game, falling to the Fighting Knights of Lynn University 14-0 yesterday at the McCusker Sportsplex in Boca Raton, FL. Senior Michael Gagliardi (Cortlandt Manor, NY) and sophomore Matthew Shelly (Floral Park, NY) each went 2 for 4 from the plate, totaling half of the Clippers hits on the afternoon. Freshmen Anthony Fratto (Newburg, NY) and Anthony Carnacchio (Rockaway, NY) each picked up a hit.

For Lynn University, Gabe MacDougall hit a grand slam home run and a double, batting 4 for 4 with 5 RBI and Nicolas Boisvert batted 2 for 3 and also drove in 5 runs. Kyle Holloway finished 3 for 4, scored 2 runs and had 3 RBI.

 

 

Sophomore John-Anthony Salvaggio (Middle Village, NY) picked up the loss for Concordia, pitching 3.2 innings and surrendering 10 hits and 13 earned runs. Salvaggio drops to 0-2 on the season. Junior Zach Staniewicz (Verplank, NY) came on in relief and pitched 4.1 innings, giving up 5 hits and striking out 7 batters.

Joe Cox pitched 6 innings for the Fighting Knights, allowing 7 hits and striking out 6 Clipper batters. Cox improves to 1-2 on the season.

The Clippers record falls to 0-6 on the season. The Fighting Knights improve to 10-9.

Concordia will travel back to Ft. Pierce, FL on Wednesday, March 7th to take on the Mountain Cats of the University of Pittsburgh-Johnstown. The action will begin at 4:00 PM.
