Clippers Become Official Members of the CACC

New Haven, CT - Concordia College (NY) became an official member of the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) as of July 1, 2009 in an announcement made by CACC Commissioner Dan Mara. Concordia was offered and accepted membership to the CACC in June 2008.

The Clippers become the 14th member of the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference. The CACC is tied for the 3rd largest conference amongst the 22 NCAA Division II conferences. The Gulf South Conference, the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference and the Rocky Mountain Intercollegiate Conference also boast 14 member institutions. The Northeast 10 Conference, the Lone Star Conference, the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference and the West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference are the largest NCAA Division II conferences, each containing 16 member schools.

"We are grateful and humbled to become part of one of the best run conferences in the country," said Concordia Director of Athletics, Ivan Marquez.  "Concordia is fully committed to represent the CACC with great honor and doing our share to bring us many, many NCAA Championship appearances".

The CACC offers 13 NCAA Division II sports. In the fall, the CACC fields men's and women's cross country, men's and women's soccer, women's tennis and volleyball. Two sports are offered in the winter, men's and women's basketball, while baseball, softball, men's tennis, women's lacrosse and men's golf will be played during the spring season.

A press conference welcoming Concordia to the CACC is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 12th in Bronxville, NY in conjunction with a men's and women's soccer double-header against Goldey-Beacom College. More details will be announced at a later date.
