SAAC Toys for Tots Drive a success

For the past month the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee has been teamed up with the Toys for Tots Foundation and the United States Marine Corps.  The toys were being collected in the main lobby of the Meyer Athletic Center along with the College Racquet Club on the campus of Concordia College New York.

The Student-Athlete Advisory Committee set a small and manageable goal for their first year of 100 toys.  Hoping that it could be fulfilled would prove to be challenging.  Members of the SAAC handed out flyers to their teachers, friends, and family and put up posters to help with the toy drive.

By the end of it all the toys and checks were counted and the goal was met and surpassed.  The SAAC was able to collect 114 toys and $200 in checks.

"I would like to thank each and every person who donated toys and/or money to the Toys for Tots Foundation.  It was a great help to know that we could help make Christmas a little happier for families.  I am proud of the members of the SAAC who were able to help make this toy drive a success," states Erin Schuler, Sports Information & Community Engagement Director.

The Student-Athlete Advisory Committee will team up once again next year with the Toys for Tots and attempt to surpass this years number.
